There is hardly a more relevant prophetic book in the Old Testament for current day America than the book of Amos. This is God's message of judgment on prosperous and powerful nations that disregard the basic fundamentals of God's concern for the poor, the weak, the strangers, and the vulnerable. God begs for repentance, but if the rich just get richer while exploiting the poor, then judgment is soon to come.
